Call for Papers on AISI 2015

Following the active discussion about Information Communication Technologies in Education in a previous conference, this special session aims to further contribute in this field of science and enrich these arguments by exchanging meaningful and pioneering ideas. New technologies are now widely used in all everyday activities and professions. This has also been obvious in the field of Education and Psychology as they provide an attractive means of communication. However, new technologies have been presented as both beneficial and harmful in these fields and most of the times researchers are wondering about their added value in the existing practices.

This special session entitled “New technologies in Education and Psychology” welcomes theoretical and empirical research papers that aim to contribute in this field of knowledge and suggest pioneering ways that will enrich the existing techniques and practices in Psychology and all levels of Education. Its aim is to provide an open and meaningful discussion with best practices and pioneering paradigms that can be used to everyday practice and also to evaluate the possible risks of these applications.

Authors are welcome to submit their papers on the topics, but not limited to the following:

• Digital games
• Lessons plans
• Mobile devices
• Web 2.0 tools
• Semantic Web (Web 3.0)
• Online/Distance learning
• Special education
• Learning/Developing/Psychological theories
• E-therapy/cyber therapy

Submission procedure, deadlines, and author instructions:

A manuscript submitted to the Special Session of AISI 2015 must be in the Springer single column format. The normal length of the manuscript is 8-10 pages long. Authors may send their manuscript to the session organizer’s email or they may use the online submission system hosted by EasyChair Conference System (Authors are kindly requested to inform the session organizer of their submission to be included within the session agenda).

Session Organizers Evgenia Theodotou, BA ECEC, MA, MSc, PhDc.

Evgenia Theodotou is a researcher and a PhD candidate in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in School of Early Childhood Education in the research area of “Literacy skills in the early years settings”. She holds a 1st class Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care from University (TEI) of Athens, a Master of Arts in Education from Durham University and a Master of Science in Teaching Technology and Digital Systems from University of Piraeus with Distinction. She has more than 10 years of professional experience as a head teacher in the Early Years Settings and more than 5 years in Tertiary Education. She has been the Programme Leader in Education Department in Metropolitan College (AMC), which in collaboration with UK Universities offers Bachelors and Masters Degrees. Her research activity involves technology enhanced learning, creativity, arts and literacy skills. She has participated in several research projects and published her research in International Conferences, Journals, edited books and monographs. She is the author of “When I play I learn… and I better understand” from Delta publications and of “Creativity in the era of New Technologies” from Kritiki publications. She is also the author of a series of children’s books which will be shortly available to public. She has a permanent column at “Anna Drouza boro.gr” under the section of “The academics answer your queries” and she has been a member in several Scientific Review Committees in International Conferences.
